Nelson.Robert_Photo RESIZEDKnown as “RR” on the job he truly loved, Robert R. Nelson served for 21 years as a firefighter, paramedic and captain at the Long Beach Fire Department. The most important thing in his life was his family and he particularly enjoyed watching his son, Cameron, play football and never missed a game. His other off-duty passion was riding his Harley, often taking long trips with his wife and close friends on the department. His life was cut short when he succumbed to jobrelated lung cancer at the age of 53.
