Timothy Bissett was proud to work for the firefighters — “America’s heroes,” as he liked to call them. A native of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Timothy Bissett came to California via the U.S. Marine Corp and fell in love with the year-round mild weather and the golfing. It was the perfect place for him and his wife Barbara to settle down and raise three children. He joined the Montclair Fire Department in 1981 and served as deputy fire marshal and arson investigator during his career. He died of esophageal cancer, a disease commonly linked to arson investigators, in February.
