Ronny Bennett dedicated his life to the Orcutt Fire Department, beginning his career with them when he was just 16. Starting out as an Explorer, he was promoted through the ranks until he was named Fire Chief in 2003. His 23 years of service left an indelible mark on his community. Off duty, he surrounded himself with family and good friends and loved to spend time with his niece and nephew, who adored their Uncle Bub. He suffered a fatal heart attack while responding to a call to duty.
