Rice.Kenneth_Photo RESIZEDKen was always loving, caring, and thoughtful.  He  always remembered the four F’s in his life: Faith, Family, Friends, and Fire Service.  Ken joined San Diego Fire Department in March 1965 and earned the rank to Battalion Chief in June 1980. His love for the fire service expanded from city to wildland fires working with Cal Fire and the U.S. Forest Service.  His passion for being a fire fighter was a great reflection of the respect he had for all his colleagues. He always displayed great courage, grace, humor, and dignity.
