Gerasimos “Gerry” Gray began his fire service career in 1988 working as a seasonal firefighter with Lassen National Forest. He was later hired as a fire engineer with the Red Bluff Fire Department, promoting through the ranks to become chief in 2006. Later in his career, Gerry served as battalion chief, deputy chief and ultimately chief with the City of Redding Fire Department. Gerry proudly served the fire service community for over two decades and during this time was also the Director for the Shasta Cascade Haz Mat Response Team.
